The Fred Astaire Trophy System Offers the Finest Dance Instruction in the World

The Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studio Trophy System is a unique method of dance instruction.  Encompassing many facets, the Trophy System is an exciting way for you to gauge your progress in receiving the benefits of dance.  The Fred Astaire Trophy System has been approved by the National Dance Counsel Of America (NDCA) and combined the basic elements of dance to create an exciting new level of social and competitive dance. The Fred Astaire Trophy System has also been redone to include the exciting new levels of Dancesport.  Dancesport is now  recognized by the IOC and will be included in upcoming Olympic events.  The new Fred Astaire Trophy System was put into place by the Fred Astaire National Dance Counsel which has over 30 United States and World Champion professionals.  So no matter if you wish to just become a confident social dancer or a national competitor we have the programs and instructors to help you reach your dancing dreams.

Introductory Program - This program is designed to introduce you to Fred Astaire Dance Studios and for you to learn a little more about how we teach here in the valley and what dances you might be interested in learning.

Beginner Program - A great way for you or you and a partner to learn some of the basic elements of dance, the different tempos of music, and to get an understanding of what you would like your dancing to do for you.  This is our first stepping stone in teaching students to becoming a confident and comfortable social dancer.

Social Foundation - After you have an understanding of the basics and elements of your Beginner Program, you will have a chance to design a program with your instructor to fit your lifestyle, your dance desire, and to help achieve some of the wonderful benefits dance has to offer.  This program is designed to solidify the basic elements of your social dances while enabling you to "Hold Your Own" in any given social dance situation.  When completed you will have an understanding of footwork; an introduction to the various dance tempos, whether fast or slow, and the fundamentals of a good lead as a man or following factors as a lady.  This program also provides and excellent stepping stone to our next level of instruction - the Bronze Trophy System.

Bronze Trophy - The Bronze Program contains the perfect blend of style, technique and versatility in thirteen of the most popular dances.  More then 85% of all of our students in the studios use the Bronze program to "cement" their knowledge of dance so they may use it throughout the rest of their lives.  Social Bronze Dancers learn a wide variety of steps in all the popular dances while enhancing their step patterns, appearance, partnership, and expression.  In a short period of time the Bronze social dancer gains the fun, poise, and confidence which enables them to dance with a variety of partners to a variety of music.  Dancesport Bronze Dancers learn all the social aspects but continue on the road to dancing proficiency as they learn the techniques of exhibition styling.  This not only improves their social dancing, but allows them to enter the competitive arena with a wealth of dancing knowledge.

Silver Trophy - The Silver Program creates dancers that are distinguished by versatility and style on both a social and competition dance floor.  Our Silver Program allows our students to expand on the elements of dance to better utilize floor space while learning the characteristics unique to each dance.  Silver social dancers can dance in any situation whether is be a relaxing social party or a chance to clear a dance floor.

Gold Trophy - The Gold Trophy is our highest level of social dancing.  Gold Trophy dancers have an extensive knowledge of dance technique and have the ability to use the elements to create their own patterns.  They also begin working on open pattern work which can be used in competitions.

Open & Exhibition Programs - An Open or Exhibition program can be used in conjunction with any of our above Trophy Systems.  This program helps our students to build their "dance personality" while working to advance their understanding of dance elements and technique.  This is an extremely useful addition to a students program because it teaches them to rely on themselves to understand their dances and to utilize the knowledge the have been practicing.

Starlite Parties - You might see a group of people out one night cutting up a dance floor and having a great time.  They are also learning a valuable lesson of how to utilize a social dance floor in which we can not control the crowd, the music, or the floor size.  We use our three hour Starlite Parties to help our students begin dancing in social situations.  It is one thing to learn to dance on a 2000 square foot ballroom dance floor and then make the transition to a  social situation where your dance floor measures 10x10.

Coaching Lessons - Our coaching lessons, also known as DanceMasters, provide our students with the chance to work with the top United States and World Champions.  The coaches are flown in different times of the year to help our students with either preparing for a competition, choreographing exhibition routines, or providing their years of teaching experience to enhance our students ability on the dance floor.

Wedding Programs - When they announce at your wedding..... "The bride and groom will begin their lives together with their first dance," what will you do? If you  take advantage of Fred Astaire Dance Studios, you would step out to the middle of the dance floor looking like Fred and Ginger.  We will work with you on choreography for any dance you choose: waltz, foxtrot, tango or whatever song is right for your special day.

We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor.
